If you’re someone who has a regular, consistent meditation practice that brings powerful benefits for you, I salute you! Go forth and enjoy!

But if you’re like the majority of my clients, for whom meditation is a “should” but who have struggled to create a consistent practice around it …

I’m here to let you off the hook.

I’m living proof that a regular meditation practice is not necessary to live a mindful, soul-led life.

And there’s a very good reason why many women struggle to implement a consistent practice.

Meditation is an ascension practice that supports us to connect to our inner awareness beyond our thinking – to deepen our connection to Oneness, to That which is greater than us.

It’s a masculine practice centred in discipline, rigour and stillness, as we transcend any discomfort in our bodies.

All of which are really important, powerful aspects of self to cultivate.

Yet by our nature, we as women are cyclical, flowing, movement-based beings.

And in my experience of coaching thousands of women, what we’re most in need of in this modern world is not more rigour and body disconnection.

Rather, our bodies are deeply yearning for flow, sensuality, movement and honouring.

What serves us most is not to transcend our bodies but to descend INTO our bodies – to more deeply honour and commune with them, and trust our cycles, hungers and desires.

That’s why I recommend body-led movement as a more powerful daily practice for women than traditional meditation.

Body-led movement offers all of the mindfulness benefits of meditation PLUS a deepening of trust, partnership and connection with your body.

Typically even when we’re doing nourishing things for our body (eg yoga) we’re almost always guiding our body instead of allowing our bodies to speak and guide us. Body-led movement flips this and offers a dedicated pathway to tune into our body’s wisdom.

There are many different ways to practice – the key is that we give our bodies a voice.

If you like to freestyle, you might like to use my wild feminine Spotify playlist here – intuitively pick a song and let your body release and move.

Or if guided practices are your thing, you might enjoy my ROSE guided movement practice taking you through movement to release tension, open and soften, and energise your body. I offer gentle prompts and guidance, with plenty of free space for your body to take the lead.

You can access ROSE as a standalone here, or enrol in Anxious to Unleashed, a self-paced, online program. Anxious to Unleashed includes access to ROSE and other guided practices as well as seven video lessons and an accompanying workbook, to support you to find freedom from your busy mind and anchor into your body.

Our body holds so much wisdom for us … we just need to create the space to hear it.
