In a culture that worships over-working, we have plenty of examples of high-impact leaders driving huge results and change for their respective businesses.
But peek under the hood of their life and too often we find the cost that individual and those around them are paying for said success: chronic stress or overwhelm, broken marriages, persistent ailments and health conditions, absent parenting and/or unsettled and anxious kids.
We’re also starting to see some examples of those who have chosen to put their well-being first by opting out – through sabbaticals, career breaks or leaving their industry altogether.
Which is great for them … but where does that leave those of us who want BOTH?
Who want to be intellectually challenged and create great results for our clients … but aren’t willing to trade our wellbeing to get it?
Who want to have a big impact in our chosen industries *and* a healthy, happy, fulfilling life outside of work too?
As you’ll well know, it’s not a well-trodden path in our modern world, so to be a trailblazer in this regard requires focus, fortitude, and key skills:
* Focus to be unwilling to trade on your vitality and wellbeing, no matter what.
* Fortitude to go against the grain, to back yourself enough to operate differently.
* And the relevant skills to put that into practice: to navigate the high stakes conversations, hold the necessary boundaries, articulate your value outside of your work ethic, and lean into the discomfort of others’ judgments (perceived or otherwise).
If this is resonating and you want the structures, accountability and support and to put your vitality first, you can find the details of my 1:1 coaching program here.
